North Africa’s Morocco is a country of diverse terrain, abundant culture, warm and friendly people and a glorious climate of hot summers and mild winters. The country offers its visitors so much to see and do in Morocco yet many people find themselves either confined to Marrakech on a city break, or around their hotel pool at coastal resorts like Agadir.

If you are lucky enough to be planning a holiday in Morocco then consider a multi center holiday to ensure that you get the most from your trip. A few nights at different locations is easy to organize and more than worthy of the travelling time between each destination.

Even if you are just planning on basing yourself in one location then you will be surprised about how much you can do whilst still sleeping in the same bed every night.

Many companies exist that can offer some spectacular day trips whether it be to the beach, the mountains or in to the vibrant cities. Ask in your hotel for their recommendations and consider these three tips below on how to make the most of Morocco.

Hit The Beach

Morocco has some incredible beaches with some great accommodation options. The most popular of these is Agadir with its 6 miles of golden sands and impressive 300 days of sunshine a year. The ability for visitors to combine this type of beach holiday with the incredible range of activities within close proximity to the coast such as dessert trips and medieval cities makes Morocco a beach holiday destination with a difference.

Adventure Trip In The Atlas Mountains

The magnificent Atlas Mountains span much of Morocco and offer visitors endless opportunities for adventure. From Marrakech you can even visit the Atlas Mountains on a day trip with companies like this. The contrast in scenery and environment from the busy and noisy streets of Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains is incredible!

If you have more time, it is definitely worth spending at least a couple of days in the Atlas Mountains and doing some activities. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. Many organized trips will include an overnight stay in a Berber village, which gives you an opportunity to learn about their communities and ways of life.

City Break

There are many cities in Morocco that can provide the location for wonderful city breaks. All, just a short flight away offer something different to the more traditional European city break destinations.

Marrakech, the most popular is a magical place with its central square Djemaa el-Fna which is something of an open air theater with its many street performers battling for your attention and providing entertainment all through the night. Essaouira, is another great destination for a city break in Morocco with a more laid back feel yet still just as much buzz and things to do. Tangier on the northern coast has a more European feel. This ancient and exotic city has it all, beaches, shopping and a wealth of culture.
